Born in the ghettos of Alexandre in Johannesburg to Zimbabwean immigrants in September 1993, Lungelo was put in the care of his uncle in Zimbabwe until 2006 when he came back to South Africa where he completed his schooling. Lungelo found his passion for music while studying Electronic Engineering at the University of Pretoria when he participated in the inter-residential singing competition Serenade. Determined to learn, Lungelo made use of platforms such as “YouTube” to teach himself how to play the guitar, and by frequently performing at Open Mic Nights at Aandklas in Pretoria, he honed his musical ability. Being part of the world renowned Tuks Camerata Choir also helped him develop his vocal skills.
